About the Group

In this relatively small group, we study fundamental perceptual and cognitive functions of naturally evolved creatures (especially humans), which can be explained by the structure and functioning of the underlying nervous system. Multiple directions of work are organized around studying the interaction of individual internal states and emotions in shaping different aspects of perception and cognition. Towards these goals, we take an interdisciplinary approach - employing psychophysics, psychophysiology and neuroimaging, with computational data analyses in studying samples of clinical as well as non-clinical populations. A complementary goal is to contribute the basic understanding gained from the body of work here, to the development of societally relevant applications.
